When you are writing your first official post, what topic to choose is always the hardest thing.  I have used many different applications on the web, on mobile, or traditional notebook or scrapbook "blogging".  Whatever tools I use, I always use it for 1 very specific reason, blogging about interesting places I have been.  I guess it is pretty clear that no matter what I use to blog about random things, I get most excited about blogging my traveling experiences (Yes, I am one of those who would rent pocket wifi around the world just to post interesting places or things I see/experience in real-time.)

Recently, a friend of mine mentioned to me that she has friends who have decided to travel around the world for a year and a half....  We are not talking about some recent college grad who decided to "trek" for a few months while he is still young.  We are talking about a couple who are probably in their mid 40s decided to "postpone" everything and started a new chapter of life experience.  They planned their desired locations on a map, gave their notice, saved $$$ for traveling and for after they are back so they have money while looking for jobs, and scheduled some meetup time and locations with friends who might be on vacation while they are "trekking" around the world.  They have a house sitter and a cat sitter for a year, and they set up a site that will be posting their world traveling activities....  My first impression?  Envious. :D  I totally would LOVE to do that.

Anyway, I started searching for books about traveling around the world on Amazon (LOL I love Amazon), WOW talk about tons of options.  I have no idea if they are any good, but I am totally interested in finding out more.  Here is one interesting one "How to Travel the World on $50 a Day: Travel Cheaper, Longer, Smarter."  If I find any good practical books I will let you know.
